The Difference Between Painters

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

There was an article in the New York Times recently by a disappointed and somewhat angry consumer who hired someone to do some painting.  Notice how I phrased that sentence.  From what I read in the Times this consumer didn’t hire a painting contractor, he hired a painter.  There is a big difference.  Perhaps this analogy will help explain.  Suppose you are looking to buy a used car.  There are several ways you can go about it.   You could buy a used car from a private seller.  You could go to a used car lot.  Better yet, you might try  the previously owned cars offered by  major automobile companies that sell and lease new cars.  The least expensive of the three wouldn’t necessarily be the private owner.  But the most expensive would probably be the new car dealer.  Guess who would give you the best service and stand behind the car that you purchased? There is a difference between some one who is selling a car and a company in the business of selling cars.

So when you’re shopping around for a painter don’t hire some one who “does painting”, hire someone who is in the business of painting  There is a difference.

Residential Painting

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Labor Day weekend is fast approaching. Families are returning from vacation, kids are going back to school ,and the weather is finally getting cooler. This is the time when a homeowner’s thoughts turn to getting some painting done. If you are one of those consumers interested in repainting a room or two, better call the painter soon. The period between Labor Day and the Holidays is one of the busiest times for painting contractors, so the sooner you get on the schedule, the sooner you’ll get the work done.
